Dark Nights Memories, 13x4’ from the ceramic abstract sculpture memory series

This sonnet accompanies the piece:

When Darkness Falls

When darkness falls, it might

Not be the dark of night—

Perhaps it is the hollow

Deeply laid, out of sight,

A lamp inside that sheds no light—

No opening to follow.

Dismiss the outstretched hand,

Trim the outsized hopes

That never had a chance to land

As eyes retreat and heartbeat drones,

Alert to squeak and bang.

Darkness shows the map of stars

The twink and glimmer of a path—

The lightfooted way at last.

The exhibition is a focus on immigration issues in light of the upcoming elections which has continues to go from controversy to ever-deeper levels of insanity.  This Fall is an important period for the Puffin. We will be inviting speakers from the Nation Institute, Mother Jones, and other partners of the Puffin Foundation to speak during the time that the exhibition will be up.  We will also be hosting a group of high school students for a closed door workshop for high school student on issues of Gun Control with participation from the Andrew Goodman Foundation, Brady Campaign, and supportive local politicians. Our usual weekend programming of concerts will also be happening on the weekends as well as the 2018 Teaneck International Film Festival

Above the tent is written the following text in a spiral: Inside it’s warm; there’s a basket of plenty of food. There are blankets and cuddles and Santa comes regularly. It’s home, Home, HOME. Outside it’s cold or way too hot and scary, dirty. We are forgotten, looked through, if at all. Death comes wherever we are. Inside and Outside WE are EQUAL.
