Die in New York lebende Psychiaterin, Dichterin und Künstlerin Elisabeth Frischauf (www.elisabethfrischauf.com) bewegt sich in ihren Gedichten durch ihre Flüchtlingskindheit und -jugend unter Bildern ermordeter Angehöriger und führt uns hinein in ihre Welt im Innern New Yorks. „Die meine Hand ergreifen/ They clasp my hand" in Übersetzung von Ernst Karner ist in der Lyrikreihe Nadelstiche des Verlags der Theodor Kramer Gesellschaft erschienen.

Moderation - Konstantin Kaiser (Theodor Kramer Gesellschaft)
Elisabeth Frischauf liest ihre Gedichte in englischer Sprache.
Die Schauspielerin Dagmar Schwarz liest die deutsche Übersetzung.
Anschließend Gespräch mit Elisabeth Frischauf und dem Übersetzer Ernst Karner.
Die Gedichte werden in englischer und deutscher Sprache vorgetragen. Die deutsche Übersetzung der Gedichte liest die Schauspielerin Dagmar Schwarz.
Die Veranstaltung ist eine Kooperation der Österreichischen Exilbibliothek und der Theodor Kramer Gesellschaft.

Elisabeth Frischauf's bilingual volume of poetry They Clasp My Hand, with also a translation by Ernst Karner has just been published. Her cycle of poems "A song breaks through" was published translated into German in Zwischenwelt, No. 3 (October 2021), 38th year. The cycle of poems precedes the narrative memoir as a prologue in English ("A song bursts forth").


Elisabeth Frischaufs zweisprachiger Gedichtband „They Clasp My Hand. Die meine Hand ergreifen" in Übersetzung von Ernst Karner ist eben erschienen. Ihr Gedichtzyklus „Ein Lied bricht durch" wurde in ZW Nr. 3 (Oktober 2021), 38. Jahrgang veröffentlicht. Der Gedichtzyklus ist dem Gedichtband als Prolog in Originalsprache („A song bursts forth") vorangestellt.
